A strategy game for two players.
Materials
7x7 board.
16 black and 16 white stones.
Setup
The game is played on the intersections of a 7x7 board
The game starts out with 4 black stones placed on d2,d3,e2,e3 and 4 white stones placed on d6,d9,e6,e9
Definitions
Adjacent – Always means orthogonally adjacent.
Drop – A stone played to an empty point on the board from a player's reserve.
Play
One player is black the other white.
Black starts, then turns alternate.
On a turn, you must either,
- Move a friendly pawn in a straight line jumping over an adjacent friendly stone and landing on an empty point directly after, then drop another friendly stone from your reserve on an empty point that is adjacent to the stone last moved or
- Capture by orthogonally jumping over an enemy stone with an adjacent friendly stone and landing on an empty adjacent point directly after the jumped stone. Captured stones are removed from the board and returned to your opponent's reserve.
Restrictions
A sequence of jumps over friendly and enemy stones is allowed under the following conditions.
- During a sequence of jumps, a stone cannot land twice on the same space without a capture between the two landings (the space the stone is initially on doesn't count as a landing).
- During a sequence of jumps, if a stone lands, without having captured in the space it was on at the beginning of the turn, then the sequence ends and a new stone is dropped.
Object
You win if your opponent is unable to take his turn or if he runs out of stones in his reserve.
